Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or date of birth you type into one of the search tools here goes directly to the outside provider that runs that tool. The provider processes the query and returns results. We do not keep or log the search terms you enter.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message so we can write back. That message stays with our team, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page here loads, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- Your browser and its version
- The pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- Your device type and operating system
- The page or site that referred you, when there is one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files your device stores so we can see how visitors move through the pages, which topics draw the most traffic, and where readers lose interest. Analytics providers help us total up that traffic. You can block cookies in your browser at any time, though a few parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
Collected data serves a short list of purposes:
- Sending your query to the right partner service
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Learning which pages help readers and which need revision
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may reflect your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a warrant database or any collection of personal warrant records. We publish general guidance about where Lenawee County warrant records are held and how to check them through the clerk who keeps the case, the sheriff's office that serves the order, and the courts that issue it. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we gather about visitors is assembled into a consumer report about anyone.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Whatever you enter there is handled under that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide how long they keep a query and who else sees it, and we have no control over those choices. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link to court pages, sheriff's office pages, state agencies, legal aid organizations, and third-party search tools. Following any of those links takes you away from this site, and the destination's privacy policy takes over at that point. Review it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across websites to target ads. That tracking runs on their systems and not on ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information can reach:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that handle a query you run here
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Government bodies or law enforcement when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect the information we collect. Nothing connected to the internet is entirely safe, though. We work to keep your information secure, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Michigan's Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231 to MCL 15.246, governs requests for records held by public bodies such as the county, the courts, and city offices. That law does not reach records held by a private site like this one, so we extend the same choices as a matter of policy. You can:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Have incorrect information corrected
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
- Ask us to erase your data
